UK Airshow Review 15th Anniversary Competition
A lot has changed in 15 years. Back in 1996, the likes of Gina G, The Fugees and the Spice Girls topped the charts, England hosted Football's European Championships and Damon Hill won the F1 World Championship. Meanwhile, Airshows in this country boasted such gems as Swedish SAAB Viggens, Italian F-104s and that old UKAR favourite the German MiG-29!
OK, so they're bad examples... charts are still full of rubbish, England are still crud at football and we now have two F1 world champions flying the flag, but the aircraft mentioned have all long since been retired and many of the shows that hosted them are confined to the history books too! It's scarcely believable though that 1996 was also the year that Paul Osborne started UK Airshow Review, and in 2011 we celebrate fifteen years of leading the field.
Now securely established as the British aviation enthusiast's number one choice for breaking news, great debate, quality journalism, incredible photography and impartial reviews. UKAR's ethos has always been a simple one - we're run by a dedicated team of enthusiasts just like you, passionate and knowledgeable about the hobby. UKAR is run by enthusiasts, for the benefit of you, the membership.

To celebrate this landmark in our history, we've called on our sponsors and affiliates as well as some of the biggest names in aviation and airshows to bring you a competition befitting of such an occasion. You'll find a list of exactly what is on offer below, but before you get ahead of yourself, it is important to note that some of the prizes have specific requirements and restrictions (age, weight, travelling etc). It is therefore very important that you read and understand the terms and conditions (found at the bottom of the page and marked into some descriptions with an asterisk) before you enter.
When submitting your entry you have an option to mark which prizes you wish to be entered for - if you do not meet the criteria for whatever reason, do not tick the boxes for those prizes. By submitting your entry you will be accepting the terms and confirming that you are eligible to win each of the items listed.

A Flight Aboard The Goodyear Blimp
We have arranged with Goodyear for a single winner plus one guest to claim a prize that, quite literally, money cannot buy!
You will enjoy a flight aboard the Goodyear Blimp "Spirit of Safety I" when she returns to the UK skies in October as part of Goodyear's road safety campaign.
Departing from Halfpenny Green airfield, near Wolverhampton, the winner will enjoy a flight lasting approximately half an hour.

Two Diecast Aircraft Models
We have two 1/72nd scale diecast models to give away to two lucky winners.
The Tornado F3 model is from the Sky Guardians range and represents ZG757, the Squadron flagship of 43 Squadron at RAF Leuchars. The second model is a Phantom FG1, again in 43 Squadron colours, from the Gemini Aces range.
These models are Limited Edition releases and come presented in collector's packaging. Both models feature an opening canopy, interchangeable undercarriage, separate armaments and a display stand, while the Tornado also features swing wings".

A Flight With UKAR Founder Paul Osborne
Airshows wouldn't be airshows without flying, so how about taking to the skies yourself, up front, with a chance to take the controls? That's what's on offer here from UKAR's founder and owner Paul Osborne.
Flying from the delightful Andrewsfield in Essex (once home to Marauders, Mustangs and Meteors), the aircraft is a Piper PA28R Arrow - an upmarket Cherokee with retractable undercarriage, variable pitch prop and a throaty 5.9 litre engine. During the one hour flight you will cruise out over the Essex countryside at up to 140kt to enjoy the views and get some stick time of your own, returning to the airfield for a couple of circuits followed by tea and medals.
